Farm Harvest started with a small embroidered autumn landscape: pumpkins in the foreground, fields and fencing beyond them, and a barn tucked into the distance. The scene has a quiet, rural character, so the surrounding patchwork was designed to reinforce that warmth without overpowering the embroidery.

The center panel is framed first with a narrow batik border, then with a geometric arrangement of rust diamonds, taupe batik squares, and cream background sections. That structured middle border gives the piece a strong rhythm and helps transition from the detailed embroidery to the much darker outer border.

The outer batik is one of the strongest visual elements in the piece. Its nearly black ground is covered with leaves in rust, gold, olive, and muted red, bringing together the colors used throughout the center. The effect is richer and more dramatic than a plain border while still supporting the harvest theme.

Quilting adds another layer of structure. The pieced units are quilted to emphasize their shapes, particularly the rust diamonds, while the outer border carries a softer texture that follows the visual movement of the printed leaves.

The finished wall hanging measures 32″ wide x 27″ high and is made from 100% cotton fabric with wool batting. Its horizontal proportions make it especially suitable for display above furniture or on a broader wall area.

A sewn hanging sleeve on the back allows it to be displayed with a buyer-supplied rod or dowel.
