Autumn Leaves conveys a very specific visual contrast: bright fall color placed against a dark, leafy ground. The front of the quilt uses a forest green batik print as the backdrop, with rows of diamond shapes moving across the surface in red, orange, amber, yellow, plum, pink, and cream. The effect is more layered than a simple autumn palette. The darker batik gives the quilt a shaded, woodland quality, while the brighter diamonds read like leaves catching light.

The design has a strong geometric structure, but the colors keep it from feeling rigid.
